Æfingabuxur eru mjög mikilvægar í mínum augum því það er ekkert verra en að vera á æfingu í buxum sem þarf alltaf að vera að toga upp eða þá í buxum sem að teygjast ekki nóg og er erfitt að hreyfa sig í. Ég hef prufað vandræðalega margar æfingabuxur en er komin með nokkrar sem eru uppáhalds og ég bara gríp þær alltaf án þess að hugsa mig um þannig að hér koma mínar uppáhalds! Sumar fást víst ekki á íslandi eins og t.d. Lululemon, en ef þið eruð einhverntímann á ferðalagi til USA, endilega kíkið á þær í Lululemon búðunum. Efnin sem eru notuð eru klikkað þægileg og teygjanleg, enda eru Lululemon buxur eitt það heitasta bæði í USA og Kanada.

Workout pants are extremely important to me because there is nothing worse than working out in tights that won’t stay up or tights that don’t allow you to move well. I have tried a rediculous amount of workout pants and over time, I’ve found some favorites that I always grab without thinking so I’m going to share a few of them with you in case you are in the market for some workout pants that actually stay up, stretch with your body, and hold up over time too!

1. Lululemon Align Pant

Okay, I’m putting these first because once you try on a pair of these buttery soft leggings, you will be hooked! And there’s a chance that any other tights you try in the future will never be good enough because you’ve experienced the glorious feeling of the Align pant from Lululemon. I live in these and I try to get away with wearing them for every occasion (don’t judge). They are technically yoga pants, so they are not the most durable, but I still use them for any workout, really, because I love them so much. Just make sure you wash them on delicate with like fabrics (no jeans, towels, etc) and lay flat to dry.

They come in 7/8 length and a crop length, but sometimes (and as a tall girl, this is my fave) you can catch a pair of full length ones online at lululemon.com, but they sell out super fast!

2. Nike Pro Training Tights

These are a good basic Nike tight that I’ve had several versions of over time. They keep changing them and coming out with new versions but I’ve linked the current version on the Nike site. The fabric is nice and stretchy and the elastic at the waist really keeps them up throughout the workout.

3. Lululemon Speed Up Tight

There used to be a pair called the “Speed Tight” and I just about wore mine to the ground but now that I’m ready for a new pair I’m not seeing it on their website. It looks like the newer “Speed Up Tight” is taking over, and it’s actually really similar. These have pockets for your phone which in my opinion is awesome! They also stay up on your hips exceptionally well. They are designed for running but I actually love them for lifting in the gym. As with most Lululemon pants, they stretch amazingly and don’t go anywhere during your workout.

4. adidas Believe This Mesh Mix 7/8 Training Tights

I just recently got these at Dick’s Sporting goods and I tried on a few other adidas training tights. I must say I was pleasantly surprised! They are like a training tight with all the right seams but in buttery soft yoga pant material. I’m pretty sure I said “wow” when I put them on because they are just that comfortable!

March goals

March goals

Jæja, fyrstu dagarnir í mars fóru í það að plana og halda uppá fjögura ára afmæli sonar míns. Þannig að ég er núna fyrst að setjast niður og setja mér markmið fyrir mánuðinn og ég ákvað bara að gera það hér, með ykkur!

Í desember síðastliðnum kláruðum við maðurinn minn Spartan Trifecta sem var markmið okkar 2017. Það fór langur tími í að æfa alveg sérstaklega þolið og styrkinn sem þurfti í þessi hlaup og það var ótrúlega skemmtilegt, en síðan í desember er ég búin að vera með frekar frjálst æfingaprógram, og það er búið að vera mjög þægilegt. Núna er mér hinsvegar farið að langa að setja mér aðeins skírari markmið til þess að halda metnaðinum í gangi og svona.

Mín Mars Markmið:

  • Æfa 4-6 sinnum í viku og taka sérstaklega vel á rassinum og öxlunum.
  • Borða næringarríkan morgunmat og passa að borða 5 sinnum á dag (3 máltíðir, 2 millimál). Borða næga fitu (avokadó, hnetur, hnetursmjör, olíur ofl). Það er svo mikilvægt að gefa líkamanum næga orku til þess að byggja upp þreytta vöðva.
  • Sofa amk 7 tíma á dag. Ég er alltaf að reyna að fara að sofa á sama tíma á kvöldin og vakna á sama tíma á morgnanna. Það er hægara sagt en gert, en ef til vill verður Mars mánuðurinn sem mér tekst þetta.
  • Drekka nóg vatn! Ég týndi uppáhalds vatnsbrúsanum mínum og hef ekki drukkið jafn mikið vatn síðan. Ætla að taka á því núna.
  • Prufa nýjar æfingar (mig hefur langað til að prufa fleiri ólympískar liftingar) og halda prógraminu fjölbreyttu og skemmtilegu.
  • Góð húðumhirða. Ég hef verið að pæla meira í húðumhirðu uppá síðkastið og fékk nokkur góð ráð frá vinkonu minni sem er snyrtifræðingur nýlega. Ég ætla að láta verða af því að hugsa vel um húðina í mars.
  • Mömmumarkmið: láta Kristján Tony gera allt sjálfur sem hann getur. Það er svo auðvelt að festast í því að gera hlutina fyrir hann.
  • Taka reglulega hugleiðslu og slökun. Þetta hefur oft hjálpað mér þegar að mér finnst álagið yfirþyrmandi eða þegar ég ofhugsa lífið.
  • Taka lífinu ekki of alvarlega!

Well the first few days of March were full of birthday celebrations for my son’s 4th birthday so I am just now taking the time to set my goals and intentions for March and I decided to just do it here with you all!

Last December, my husband and I finished our Spartan Trifecta which was our goal for 2017. A lot of my training was centered around building the stamina and strength required for the races and I had a lot of fun training for it. Since December though, I’ve had a pretty relaxed approach to my fitness routine, giving myself the freedom to do whatever felt right each day. Now, I’m feeling ready to set more clear goals for myself to keep my motivation going.

My March goals:

  • Train 4-6 times a week and focus more on glutes and shoulders.
  • Eat a nutritious breakfast and focus on eating 5 meals a day (3 meals, two snacks). Make sure to get plenty of healthy fats (avocados, nuts, nut butters, oils etc.) It’s important to fuel those workouts and feed growing muscles.
  • Get at least 7 hours of sleep. I’ve been trying to keep a consistent sleep schedule for a while but its definitely easier said than done. Maybe this month will be the month I get a handle on it.
  • Drink plenty of water! I lost my favorite water bottle and haven’t been drinking as much water since then. So I’d like to get my water intake up again.
  • Try new exercises (been wanting to practice more olympic lifting moves) and have more variety in my training to keep it fun.
  • Establish a good skincare routine. I’ve been getting into my skincare a little more lately, and got some advice from a good friend of mine who is knowledgable on the subject, so I am ready to take great care of my skin this month.
  • Mom goal: make Kristjan do everything he can on his own. It’s easy to automatically do things for him and I forget that he is a capable little guy.
  • Stay mindful and meditate regularly. This tends to help me stay calm and present when I get overwhelmed or when I overthink life.
  • Don’t take yourself too seriously!
